We will not complicate anything and we will paint a small box in calm colors with the help of colored soil made by our own hands.
We will need:
- a blank for a box made of solid wood or plywood.
- fine sandpaper,
- cloth gloves (desirable, but not required),
- soil
- brush
- a small clerical knife,
- white acrylic paint,
- the main acrylic paint, we will take bright green,
- a plate for soil and paint,
- glossy acrylic varnish.
Manufacturing technique
Take the blank box and process it with fine sandpaper.
For the convenience and protection of hands when grinding, you can use cloth gloves. We ground the outer surface of the box with acrylic primer and grind it with sandpaper.
Mix the soil with a small amount of white and green paint to get a pastel light green hue, primer and grind the box.
We bring a mixture of soil and white paint and a mixture of soil, white and green paint. Mixing soil and paint to give the product not only color but also texture is a manufacturing feature. And in the future it makes it possible to grind the box to give it smoothness without changing the quality of the decor. Pleasant convex lines will remain undeformed and colored after grinding.
We spread on a plate with thin parallel strips or small puddles:
- primer mixed with white paint
- a mixture of soil, white and green paint
- green paint
We draw onto the brush a drop of each of the previous mixtures so that the pile of the brush is as if transversely striped.
Put the brush perpendicular to the surface and draw 2/3 of the circle.
We always draw circles in the same type, for example, counterclockwise. We move only in one direction, for example, from left to right.
The box should be closed so that the pattern is common and flows smoothly from one part of the box to the other. Depending on the desired diameter of the circles, we select the brush of the desired size.
Making such a decor is surprisingly simple. For beginners in needlework, it’s enough to try a couple of times to paint with circles of paint in this technique on a piece of paper. If there are inflows of soil along the sides of the box, carefully remove them with a clerical knife, then grind.
We take a glossy acrylic varnish for artwork and decoupage, a synthetic brush and a blank.
We apply varnish several times, before applying the next layer, we wait for the previous one to completely dry. Varnish will make the colors bright and effective.
The result was an air spring box.
As an example, green is selected as a color-forming paint, but the main color can be any. Here are a few examples: blue or cyan resembles snow and winter, yellow - a sunny day, orange - orange candy and so on. Try it, choose your color, because the fantasy is endless and gives us an endless world of colors and shades.
