For many car enthusiasts, a garage is not only a place to store a car, but also a workshop where you can do your favorite thing, a meeting place with your hobby colleagues. And it's over, every garage owner would like to make it cozier and warmer. An effective heating system for a two-level garage can be equipped with your own hands. One of the options for such a heating system will be discussed in this article. The system is installed in one of the garages with a basement and has been operated by its owner for several years. The heart of the system is a stove, which uses firewood as fuel, located in the basement of the garage and consists of a firebox located in the middle part, a blower at the bottom and an oven in its upper part. Around the furnace is organized a heat accumulator made of metal sheets equipped with an exhaust fan. Part of the heat generated during combustion of the furnace heats the metal sheets and the air inside the battery, which, if necessary, is supplied to the room using a fan. In addition, the metal construction of the battery serves as a screen that prevents the spread of combustion products.

The chimney of the furnace is discharged through a hole in the ceiling to the upper floor of the garage

Here, for the selection of heat of combustion products moving through the chimney, a structure is installed consisting of a fan and an iron screen, which simultaneously serves as a door. The design is located in close proximity to the equipped workplace. If it is necessary to direct the flow of warm air to the workplace, the door opens slightly, giving the flow the necessary direction.

To effectively deal with clogging of the chimney, which has several bends, a removable cover is installed on one of them. If necessary, the cover is removed and the chimney is cleaned of dirt. The tightness of the cover is ensured by an asbestos gasket, bolted to the knee.
