In the process of performing welding operations, intermediate operations often have to be performed. For example, clean the metal from rust or beat off the slag. Using a 2-in-1 home-made universal tool for a welder, you can remove rust and dirt and discard slag.

For this homemade product you will need a hammer head (it is better to use a small head), as well as a piece of a square steel bar and a spring. Tool parts are connected to each other by welding.

First of all, you need to give the hammer head a beautiful appearance. Therefore, we arm ourselves with a grinder with a petal or fiber circle, and proceed to grinding the metal surface. The walls inside the eye can be freshened with a nozzle for a drill.

The step-by-step process of manufacturing a universal tool

We cut a piece of suitable length for the handle from the steel square 16x16 mm (or you can use a round log). We clean a section of the bar with a grinder, and then we join with the head of the hammer and weld. But not in the place where the eye is located, but on the side.

So that hammer blows do not give much to the hand, you can "strengthen" the handle with a piece of spring. We grab the upper edge of the spring by welding to the handle, and from the bottom we weld the washer.

On the other side of the handle (to the occipital part of the hammer) we weld a piece of the brush on the metal. To do this, cut off a suitable piece of brush for metal, then weld the ends so that the bristles do not fall out. Well, then we weld to the handle.
