When drilling floor or wall ceramic tiles with a crown, you can easily spoil the tile.
The risk of screwing up increases if you have to deal with such work not constantly, but from time to time. In other words, if there is no proper experience.
To drill holes in a tile without jambs, you can use a set of conductors. They are easy to do with your own hands.
For the manufacture of conductors, sheet metal and two suction cups are required.
The main stages of work
One conductor will be round, the second - in the form of a "bird" (checkmark). We make markings on a sheet of metal and cut out two blanks.
This can be done with a grinder or jigsaw. And you can even use a band saw for this - in general, whoever has what is at hand.
First we cut a round conductor. In it, you need to cut out the "window" of a rectangular shape.
After that, we make markings to drill holes of different diameters (for a certain diameter of crowns) in a round conductor.
At the next stage, cut out the second conductor (which is in the form of a checkmark). It will also need to make a slot - it is needed to install a suction cup.
Then install the suction cups in their "seats" and fix them with screws. First, in the conductors, it is necessary to drill mounting holes - four pieces each.
How to work with conductors
Working with these conductors is very simple, everything is intuitive.
Take, for example, a round conductor. Using a suction cup, fix it in the right place on the tile.
Then we install a crown of the desired diameter in the drill, and insert it into the hole of a suitable diameter. We begin to drill.
The second conductor is more suitable for working with large-diameter crowns.
The essence of the use of each jig is to ensure a stable position of the crown, and so that it does not divert to the side when drilling.
