In this review, the master shows how to make a wooden wall shelf with a hidden box for storing money or jewelry with your own hands.
To make such a shelf, the author uses blocks and plywood. With a wide board, the shelf can be made entirely of wood.
The first step will be to saw off one long and three short bars (dimensions - at your discretion).
In a long bar, we make grooves at an equal distance from each other, into which we then insert short workpieces and fix them with screws.
The main stages of work
At the next stage, using pieces of plywood of the required size, the author collects the bulk of the shelf.
There are partitions inside the shelf. They are needed so that you can insert the second part of the shelf, assembled from bars.
Next, the author cuts off two more pieces of plywood and glues them in front and side of the shelf to close the empty holes.
Then the author makes a hidden box himself, which will be "hidden" inside the shelf.
To the box you need to screw a piece of the board with a magnet, which is then sheathed with thin plywood. Cut to size so that the board fits snugly on the side of the shelf.
At the last stage, it remains only to glue a round neodymium magnet into the wooden handle (so that you can pull out the box) and paint the shelf.
