Using a simple do-it-yourself punching tool, it’s very convenient to punch even circular holes of a certain diameter in various materials: rubber, leather, cardboard or thick film. Also, such a penetrator can make holes in the foil and thin plastic.
This tool will be useful, first of all, to those who are engaged in various home-made crafts with their own hands. An ordinary bolt is used as a punch. Of course, you can buy factory punch, but a homemade tool will cost less. Especially if you do not plan to use it very often.
For the manufacture of a tool for punching round holes, pieces of a strip of metal, elongated nuts, and bolts with ordinary nuts will be required. We cut off the blanks of the required dimensions with a grinder, then connect them together.
The main stages of work
After we made the lower part of the tool with an extended nut into which a bolt (punch) is screwed, we proceed to the manufacture of the upper part. To do this, cut the pieces of steel strip that are necessary in size and weld them together at an angle.
In the next step, we connect the two halves of the tool together. Previously, it is necessary to weld the handles from the segments of the steel round to the upper and lower parts. To assemble the tool itself, two bolts, a nut and six washers are required.
