Do you have a slightly annoyed summer bag in light colors? Then let's get started!
Why is the color of the bag so important? First of all, because the use of classic cards is inappropriate - height differences will be too noticeable, and napkins and rice paper are so thin that they are simply lost sight of on a dark background.
The preparation of the bag for work consists not only of ridding it of all kinds of papers and sweets, but also of treating it with alcohol or vodka. This is a very important step necessary to remove fat, invisible traces of which remain even with a simple touch.
In addition to a bag for work, you will need a rice card, special mediums and, according to your desire, pastel crayons or acrylic paints on the fabric.
The first component is the glassy medium, which can be found in the product lines of Maimeri and Stamperia. It is used to finish fixing the motive and varnishing the skin. The advantage of these mediums over other varnishes is the formation of an elastic film that does not crack even with active compression.
The second important element is fabric decoupage glue. A similar one can be found in the lines of almost any company that produces products for decoupage and painting, from the budget Decola to the demanded by To-Do craftswomen.
It is generally accepted that decoupage is an unpretentious technique in which ordinary table napkins can be used. Nevertheless, if you are taking the first steps, give preference to rice paper - it is stronger, does not soak under the influence of glue, and is thin enough not to stand out even on the leatherette.
We cut out the motif and apply it to the bag, choosing the best location. Once you find the “same” point, hold the card and apply glue on top of it. It is most convenient to distribute it on the map with a dense synthetic brush. Thus, we glue all the motives and leave them to dry.
If you do not have significant artistic skills, and I really want to supplement the motive, fix the dried motif with a glassy medium, let it dry and proceed. The most convenient material is pastel - it is easy to shade and does not require time to dry.
After painting, you can immediately cover the bag with the Maimeri medium. For reliable retention of motive, it is better to do this 2-3 times if you want to achieve the effect of patent leather - 7-8.
You can take the finished accessory with you to the beach or for a walk in the park.
