For this homemade product you will need a brass hexagon, from which a piece of 25 mm length must be cut using a hand saw for metal. To prevent the teeth from becoming dull quickly, it is recommended to use machine oil during operation.
Further, marking is performed on the surface of the workpiece: an axial line is drawn, after which places for drilling four holes with a diameter of 2 mm are marked, from which a groove is then made. The holes themselves should be approximately to the middle of the workpiece.
In the end part of the brass hexagon, it is necessary to drill a hole with a drill with a diameter of 6 mm. In a brass bushing, you need to make a hole with a diameter of 2 mm, and then cut the thread with a M2.5 tap and screw in the bolt and nut.
The main stages of work
At the next stage, a M7 or M8 thread is cut in a brass hexagon with a step of 1 mm. Using a suitable die, the corresponding thread is threaded on a stud with a through hole, the diameter of which is 4 mm.
In the end part of the brass hexagon, you need to make a hole and cut the thread with a M2 tap. Further, in the segment of the M10 bolt, it is necessary to make one hole, but with different diameters. This operation is done in several stages:
- 4 mm to a depth of 16 mm;
- 2.5 mm to a depth of 7 mm;
- 7 mm to a depth of 6 mm.
In the resulting "triple" hole, an M8 thread is cut, and then a bolt is screwed into the part, everything superfluous is grinded on the grinding machine. The result should be a metal cap. A pusher with an M2 screw and additional parts are also separately manufactured.
When all the elements of the mini-pen are ready, they need to be processed with fine sandpaper and polished with a felt circle. At the last stage of the work, assembly is carried out, after which the key chain is attached.
