Using this device, various elements of cold forging can be created from steel plates, as well as square and round bars: starting from bends at a certain angle and ending with curls. For this, two interchangeable nozzles are provided, which can also be done with your own hands.
The main advantage of the tool is its low cost, since unnecessary metal scraps that are lying under your feet can be used for its manufacture. The main structural element is the bearing, and the handle is made of a rectangular shaped pipe.
Tool manufacturing process: milestones
Insert two pieces of steel plate into the inner ring of the bearing and grab them by welding. From a 40x20 mm profile pipe, cut a suitable length along the length, drill a through hole in it, and then weld to the bearing, after making a small recess in the end part.
At the next stage, two interchangeable nozzles must be made of pieces of metal plates: one to create curls in strips, rounds and squares, and the second to bend steel rods at a certain angle. A bolt is inserted into the hole in the handle, on which two small bearings must be put on, and fixed with a nut.
The tool itself is clamped in an ordinary vice, so no stand for it is necessary to do. The step-by-step process of manufacturing this homemade product, see the video on the site.
