From an old diamond blade from a circular saw, which has already worked out, you will get a very good hatchet for giving and home. For chopping firewood and large logs, it does not make much sense to use it, however, for other works (for example, to cut chips for burning a fire, chopping bones, butchering chickens, etc.), this hatchet is quite suitable. Yes, and make it very simple.
The main stages of work
The first step is to draw on the side of the disk along the stone the contours of the ax, and then cut it with a grinder. The disc itself can be grabbed with clamps to the table or clamped in a vice so that it is more convenient to cut it. Using the grinding disk we remove the burrs on the workpiece.
Then, using a grinder, we clean the surface of the hatchet to shine. At the next stage, we cut an ax from a piece of board. The wooden handle is first treated on all sides with a petal disc for the grinder, and then we finish it already on a tape or drum grinding machine.
In the upper part of the ax we make a longitudinal cut, into which we insert the ax. We connect the ax with the handle with the help of three screws, having previously drilled the holes of the desired diameter. So that the screw caps do not protrude above the surface of the ax, it is advisable to make small recesses under them (sweat). The same recesses are made on the reverse side for nuts.
