Classic vise with a collar is in almost every home workshop. But quick-clamping, which are very convenient in operation, is not for everyone. But it’s easy to fix it - we’ll do it ourselves.
For this homemade product, sections of a profile pipe, a construction corner, as well as a regular skeleton gun for squeezing silicone will be required.
The first step is to cut four workpieces from the profile pipe (two long and two short), and then weld the base of the vice from them.
The main stages of work
At the next stage, we cut three more pieces of the profile pipe along the width of the base. Two of them are welded along the edges of the base.
One blank from the profile acts as a fixed clamping jaw of a vice, the second is a limiter (emphasis) for a movable sponge. The third workpiece is the moving clamping jaw.
In the restrictive emphasis in the center, we drill a hole and insert the pistol rod for silicone into it, cutting off everything superfluous from it. A part of the skeletal pistol with a handle is welded from the outside of the stop.
The end of the rod is connected with a movable sponge. On the sides of the base we drill holes and fasten the pieces of the building corner. Then it remains only to clean everything with a grinder and paint.
