Using calcareous textured material and paper napkins, you can make the effect of "genuine leather" on the surface of the wall. This finish looks unusual and original.
On a wall of 9 square meters. m. 156 paper napkins 24x24 cm in size are required. This is a little more than 1.5 packages (100 napkins in one package). But it is better to buy two packs with a margin.
And first of all, it will be necessary to prepare napkins for further work - that is, they need to be deployed.
The main stages of work
The edges of the wall must be glued with masking tape, after which you can proceed to apply the texture. Then glue paper napkins on fresh putty. From corner to corner of the wall, the process should be continuous.
Napkins themselves can be glued in a chaotic manner, from different angles. The hanging edges of the napkins will then need to be removed. Additionally, the napkins must be rolled up with a rubber roller.
Then, on top of the paper napkins, we also apply a kitchen moisture-absorbing napkin and squeeze it slightly. Thus, an additional "checkered" pattern is obtained.
After reaching the edge of the wall, paper napkins at the beginning of the wall can already be removed. If some are removed poorly, then you need to leave them as is. We leave to dry the textured calcareous material until the next day.
Preparing the wall for varnishing
The next day, with a damp sponge, you need to wash off the torn edges of paper towels. And then we ground the wall surface with a colorless acrylic varnish.
Using colorless acrylic varnish and universal tinting paste of different colors, the author makes two coloring compositions that will cover the surface of the wall.
Shades should not be dark, but pastel, barely perceptible. In this case, the author uses tinting pastes in beige and brown.
First, we pass the wall surface in one shade, and then after drying - in the second. As a result, the texture becomes more pronounced.
