In the home workshop and garage, you often have to deal with sheet metal. And for more convenient work with this material, the author suggests making scissors from old files.
In fact, homemade scissors are a mini machine (guillotine), with which you can cut blanks from sheet metal of different thicknesses. Scissors are installed in a vice.
For the manufacture of this device, you will need 2 old files for metal, an M10 bolt with two nuts, a piece of angle 100x100 mm (from which the master will make the frame body).
You will also need an M16 bolt - a handle, square bars for emphasis and four M6 screws will be made of it.
The main stages of work
First of all, the author makes a bed for guillotine shears from a piece of a corner 100x100 mm. After marking, you need to drill two holes in it.
Then, using the 2 screws, the first file is attached. It also needs to drill two holes. Then it is necessary to establish an emphasis from a square bar.
By the same principle, the author makes the second part of the scissors for metal, only it should be smaller. Between themselves, both parts are connected using a bolt and an elongated nut.
A handle from a piece of a bolt is welded to the upper part. At the last stage, it remains only to sharpen the cutting knives from the files.
