Sometimes it happens that the doors seem to be new and beautiful, but sag - this, of course, cannot please. If you do not want to change the doors, then you need to repair.

The main reason why new doors that are made of planks sag is the dishonesty of those who assembled them.

Very often they do this: in the door pillar, a groove is selected in which the spike of the drawer is inserted. And then it is all screwed onto two screws, even the glue is not used.

You understand that a solid door is heavy, and with such a weak connection, one of the sides will sag.

If you encounter a similar problem, then know - it can be fixed. And it does not take much time.

The main stages of work

First of all, it will be necessary to remove the upper "lining" of the door to get to its inner part. Before that, it will be necessary to align the diagonals.

To strengthen the door, the master uses a piece of metal strip 25 mm wide (you can use a narrower strip).

Using a manual router and a guide for it, the author makes a groove for the strip in the door leaf.

Please note that the groove must be done from the top of the hinged side of the door to the bottom of the opposite side. We fasten the strip to the screws.

Then we fasten back the "casing" from the lining, and you can install the door in its place.

You can also try using metal perforated tape instead of a steel strip. Dimensions - width 10 mm, thickness 0.75 mm.
