Dead pixel treatment

You bought a monitor, TV or laptop and one or several broken pixels appeared on the screen, then until the warranty has expired, you can try contacting a service center to repair your device. If enough time has passed since the purchase, then I will tell you some simple ways how to restore the pixels yourself.
Without going into deep detail, a pixel is the micro-dot of which the LCD matrix consists. A dead pixel is a point on the screen that just stops shining (letting in light).
Although the black micro-point is practically not visible from the side, when watching videos closely, it still draws attention to itself, which causes little discomfort.

The pixels are incredibly small and the higher the screen resolution of your device, the worse they are noticeable. To find them, you can use a special utility such as Dead Pixel Tester or any other designed for your device.

Ways to treat broken pixels

There are not many ways to restore extinct pixels. I also want to immediately note that you use all the actions at your own risk.
  • Program.
  • Mechanical.
  • Alternative - combined.

Software way to restore pixel

So, the software method is the safest and does not require almost anything from you.
Download a utility like JScreenFix, Bad Crystal or another. Run the program on the computer. It opens in a separate window and generates high-frequency vibrations for pixels. We drag this window to the area with broken pixels and leave it for 20 minutes.

Those who restored the monitor with this program say that the first 10 minutes are enough for the black dots to work again.
If this does not help, we proceed to more dangerous actions.

The mechanical way to restore a pixel

Turn off the monitor. The area with the broken pixel is covered with a wet towel or towel. Next, take a sharp object such as a dull pencil and press it with a little effort on the pixel

Hold the force for 2-3 seconds and release.

In some cases, it works great.
Turn on the monitor - check.
If it doesn’t help, take a thicker object and press on the area with a beaten pixel. Press and turn on the monitor. Letting go of the effort. You can try different variations: turn on the monitor and push, turn off-push-turn on and so on. When the matrix starts, processes occur that can start the point to work.

Alternative Method - Combined

If all of the above did not help, we will use an alternative method, which includes everything at once:
We hang a wet towel.

Run the program to restore pixels.

And during its operation, we produce periodic pressures into the faulty area with the tip first.

And then the blunt end, affecting the entire plot.

Of course, no one will give a 100% guarantee that your monitor will be again like new, but it's still worth a try. Especially considering the good recovery percentage.
Personally, my monitor completely recovered and all the black dots disappeared.

LCD is a liquid crystal matrix with liquid inside. All the manipulations above are designed to act on this fluid inside each pixel and make it again in contact with the general control.
