After the repair, building materials remain in the bathroom, including pieces of ceramic tiles. It’s a pity to throw them away, but I don’t feel like storing and taking their place in the apartment.
Trimming tiles can be used in decoration, for example, when creating a flowerpot for garden flowers. At the same time, there is no longer any need to buy anything, because the remains of materials will be used. It takes only a little time and patience.
To create a flowerpot you need:
- an old container for decoration (metal or plastic);
- the remains of ceramic tiles;
- tile glue;
- primer "Betocontact" (if necessary);
- tools and auxiliary materials (spatula, hammer, a piece of sandpaper, a container for preparing the solution).
Description of the master class:
Before you start decorating the old container, you need to prepare the material itself for decoration. In this case, we have the remains of ceramic tiles in two colors. They need to be broken into small pieces 2-4 cm in size.

The surface of the container is pre-sanded with sandpaper, that is, roughened for better adhesion to pieces of tile. You can use a special primer "Betocontact", which incorporates glue and fine sand. When the primer hardens, a rough surface is formed on the surface, which improves adhesion to the material.
Tile adhesive is diluted according to the instructions: a dry mixture is poured into the container, into which warm water is poured in a small stream. The mixture should be thoroughly mixed, not contain lumps.
Using a spatula, apply the solution to the surface of the future flowerpot, level it. We lay out the containers and slightly drown in the tile glue pieces of ceramic tiles, trying, at the same time, to create the contrast of colors. In places where small spaces remain, we use small fragments of ceramics. Thus we decorate the entire surface of the pot.

In warm conditions, tile adhesive sets quickly, literally in an hour all pieces of the tile will be “tightly” attached. After that, it will be possible to do the filling of the seams. To do this, we use the same solution, or grout, which should be applicable for outdoor conditions.
It is convenient to fill the tile joints with both a spatula and hands. This is at the discretion of the "master." As soon as the seams are dry, remove the remnants of the mortar or grout with a slightly damp cloth. We fill the flowerpot with earth, plant flowers in it, enjoy our own work.
