To anyone who thinks about whether he should do manual knitting, we can advise only one thing: it is certainly worth it. After all, this is a very exciting and useful activity.
Human creativity knows no boundaries, but manual creativity in particular.
Consider today in this article a master class on making a cute elephant for a child from soft and fluffy threads.
So, for work we will prepare the following:
- a skein of multi-colored fancy yarn (we will have Turkish yarn);
- hook of the required size, two beads for the eyes,
- wire for spout;
- holofiber for stuffing.
The level of readiness for knitting: the simplest.
Operating time - about 1.5 hours.
Toy height: about 15 cm in height.
First action. Head and trunk
We take the threads of the desired color and begin by knitting two loops, which are called air.
Having made a diameter of 4 cm, we begin circular knitting, we get such a proboscis.
When the height of the trunk reaches 4 cm, we begin to add loops strongly to get such a circle (this will be our future head.
When 5 cm of the head is already knitted, fill the head with holofiber, as shown in the figure.
Do not forget to put in the trunk a piece of wire bent in half so that the trunk stands, and not hang limply.
We close the knitting after stuffing, the head is ready.
The second action. Torso.
Our baby elephant will stand on all 4 legs, so his body should be quite large.
We also start knitting by knitting 2 loops and gradually adding them.
It turns out that we have the following.
When it is already knitted 6-7 cm, gradually reduce the loops, then we stuff the body of the toy and close the knitting.
This is how the head and body look together.
The third action. Limbs.
The limbs are performed in a single and simple pattern. Two loops are knitted, then there is an addition, circular knitting begins, which closes 5 cm from the beginning of knitting.
It turns out such a leg, which should be filled with holofiber.
And this is how all 4 legs of the toy will look like.
The fourth action. Stitching parts.
Before you begin to sew parts, you need to knit the ears of our future toys. It’s easy to execute them, for this we knit a chain of 5 VP (air loops), and then we begin to tie it.
Here is what we get in the end.
Also, do not forget about the tail. It will be a simple chain of 6 VIs.
Then we sew the ears to the head, glue the small black eyes. Here is how our elephant calf will look in profile and in full face.
Now sew 4 legs to the body.
And finally, we sew the head and body together.
Admire our little hero now!
